I plan on getting the new ipod but I am not sure if I should get it? For people that already have it can you tell me the pros and cons. I know this may sound like a stupid question but do I really need itunes, I usually download from Lime-wire. I’m not that computer savy.

Go for it! I love my iPod. You do need to have iTunes to add music to it, however you can always import music from other sources. Also, with a 120 GB hard drive on it, you can also use your iPod as a portable hard drive to transfer or back up files by changing the settings in iTunes to enable disk use. I’ve done this with mine and it works great, it’s like having a flash drive with a huge amount of space.

Sometimes i want to download certain movies and sometimes not many results come up and when i see the quicktime icon which plays the movie, sometimes it says something like "sorry could not play the file because it is a file that quicktime does not understand" does anyone know a better or easier way to download movies to my ipod? I have the classic ipod the big ipods.

look on the seeds the more the seeds the better the downloads. and use VLC player to play some unknown files

If the songs are from iTunes and the movies as well and iTunes still has room for one more iPod, then you can transfer them to the new iPod as long as the stuff is still on the computer.

How do i upload files to limewire?
Is it true that my downloads will be affected if i do not contribute anything by way of uploads?

put them into the folder your downloads go to and no it dosen't affected your downloads if you don't share

Im about to purchase a dell dj from my cousin, but im still not sure. I was looking into an apple IPOD Shuffle, but i dont know if ill be able to download limelimewire audio files into it. If not, what type of mp3 player should i get so that i could download the audio files from limewire into it?
I dont have the CD that has the system so that I could transfer songs from the computer to the mp3 so i huess i'll sync, but how does that work. ALSO. , so i'll have to buy the cable to plug the mp3 to the computer. wHICH ONE SHOULD I GET?

Yes it is. First install whatever software comes with the media player. Then go to Limewire. Click on library. Go to Explore. It will show u all the files of songs that you have. Right click on it. Then go to Open with and click on the program that u installed that comes with the media player.

Okay i just downloaded limewire yesterday, and i here just downloading limewire won't give u viruses but its the stuff you download, like the songs ect, how can u tell what songs and stuff are viruses? i hear size of the song can tell, but like what size?? i need details!

if a virus is ADDED to a file, that one might be a bit bigger than another one of the same song but some viruses replace a part of the song so that is not much to go on

games and software that is in ZIP format are a lot more likely to have viruses than songs are.

it has sections which protect your PC in real time against various different things. Leaving all these on slows you down a lot, but you can turn on P2P (peer to peer, which is what Limewire is) just before you do any downloading then turn it off for web surfing.
this will check the files as they come in, and stop the download if there is a virus in it.

then you have to try from a different site.
i've noticed if there are huge lots of the same download they all have viruses in them…. a few people downloaded the first virus-y one, they can't use it but is stays on their shared folder, so becomes available to everyone else to download. Most downloads come in bits and pieces from several computers for faster downloading (Limewire puts them back together) so this is an excellent way of spreading viruses.

programs with viruses usually won't work, a lot of songs will.

if you don't want fulltime virus protection at least run a virus checker after a download session; you can speed it up by selecting only the shared folder for checking

i try to down load lime wire basic and i keep geting a thing that say i dont have administartive privilage and i had it on my old cp how can i get around that

Make sure you're logged into your computer as the administrator. At the Windows login page, it should be pretty clear who the Admin is of the computer. If you're at home on your parents' computer or something, it's probably your mom or dad's login. Once you're logged in as Admin, you'll be able to download/install anything you want.

Ppl say that u can download limewire songs to ur ipod, but how can u do it without burning a disc? I've done it once which I had 2 burn a disc but that took about an hr 4 itunes 2 transfer it 2 my ipod! Is there a quicker way? If so, plz explain in steps or specificly. Thx!

you'll have to save the songs from limewire onto a playlist. in your limewire library you need to "enqueue" the songs you want onto the playlist at the bottom. when you have the list, click the "save as…" button at the bottom of the screen. save it and then go to iTunes. on iTunes go to File>Import and then search for the LimeWire folder. it should be under My Computer>C: Drive>Program Files>Limewire. then click on the playlist and press open! the songs will then be in your library. then all you have to do is just drag the songs to your iPod!

I downloaded limewire and it was working great for a year or so with putting songs on my ipod but I uploaded an advanced version and it wouldn't let me export songs anymore. So I deleted it. What other programs can I download so I can still put free songs on my ipod and how do I do it?

well you have many freeware programs for dowloading songs, you have kceasy.com…….frostwire.com**most recomended** ( a new Beta version of lime wire)……..kazaa.com and all of these are music/video/pic sharing programs… Good Luck
