i have utorrent and lime wire softwares.my internet connection is 256kb/s.even then these softwares are working at 10-30kb/s.how shold i increase the speed

see there is no way you can increase your speed yourself but it depends on the seeds and peers. I mean if the peers and seeds are more the speed Increases automatically !!

Whenever thay stall, it means that noone is on the network that has the files you need. The only advice I can give would be to find the file in your search that has the most peers or seeders. Having a pretty fast internet connection helps sometimes as well.

I have visited their website, but when I click the download Basis, it turns out that I can only download limelimewire pro. How can I download the BASIC?

The limewire website tries to trick you into purchasing the PRO version, however it is still possible to find the links to download the basic version.

As far as I'm aware the PRO version offers faster downloads- I'm not sure exactly how it does this, but I believe it simply removes limitations placed on the basic version.

Since Limewire is open-source, somebody created a fork* that implements all the functionality of the pro version for free. It's called frostwire and you can download it from http://www.frostwire.com/.

*by fork, I mean that they took the Limewire source code and made a new product based on it. It's almost identical to Limewire PRO in every way

My limewire usually downloads around 29kbs. Last week, I don’t know what happened, but my download speed jumped up to 120kbs. That rocked! Unfortunately it is back down to 29 and I don’t know why or what I did. I know the more hosts the better, but it will not go above 29kbs. Takes 4 minutes to download a song. 7 Hours to download a movie. What can I do to speed it back up?

It has a lot to do with your internet connection… How many people are on and sucking the bandwidth down and how oversubscribed your service is in your area…

If it is your bandwidth (which I am betting it is, its a frustration for me too) there isn’t a whole lot you can do… Other than pay for another service… Or call your provider and see if there’s a limit on your speed, some companies have tiers of d/l speed… So in order to get to the next tier, you have to shovel out more dough to them…

Short of that, you may want to make sure you don’t have any nasties running (i..e, viruses, malware, spyware, adware)… If you need some good apps that are free and quality to check that with, I use:

Can you get in trouble by just downloading limewire? Before you download the program, why does it ask if you are going to use it to download illegal crap? Is there a difference between the two choices? Thanks.

They ask you so then they don't have liability when you download illegal crap and get caught doing so. They won't let you install it if you click that you will use it for illegal crap. Use this site for illegal crap if you want.
